In the financial year 2076/78, a budget of Rs 400 million was allocated for the road under the Constituency Strategic Program. A 25-kilometer section of the road connecting Dhenung Deurali in Ghiring Rural Municipality of Tanahun to Keladighat in Palpa is lying idle in Ghiring Rural Municipality. Although an agreement was signed with the construction company on 23 Baisakh 2073 BS to complete the construction in 15 months, the road has remained unpaved for various reasons, said Hom Bahadur Thapa, the chairman of Ghiring Rural Municipality.

The construction company had signed a contract agreement for the blacktop of the said 25-km road at a cost of 107.6 million rupees.

The construction of this road, which began in 2073 BS through the District Technical Office, was handed over to the Infrastructure Development Office of Gandaki Province, Nawalpur, after the country went federal. After this, this road was again brought under the Infrastructure Development Office.

As per the agreement with the District Technical Office, the contractor company was supposed to complete the construction of this road by 28th Shrawan 2074 BS. However, after the company that started the work at that time did not complete it, the office proceeded with the process of terminating the contract. Rabindra Tiwari, the head of the Infrastructure Development Office, informed that the contractor had completed 75 percent of the work and had received a payment of Rs 76 million 37 thousand.

The office says that the contractor has filed a lawsuit demanding compensation for leaving many works such as constructing drains, installing traffic signs, and constructing retaining walls incomplete. Santoshi Nirman Sevas had filed a lawsuit claiming a demand of 42.27 million rupees with interest.

Thapa, Chairman of Ghiring Rural Municipality, said that although crores of rupees have been allocated for the road since the financial year 2078/79, the amount could not be spent due to the case.

Though 400 million rupees were allocated for the strategic road in the said constituency by the decision of the Council of Ministers on Chaitra 12, 2077 BS, to be completed within a maximum of three years, the amount was returned after the contract could not be arranged for the road due to local problems. Now that the problem has been resolved, it is said that 100 million rupees have been allocated for the current financial year to work on the road. .
