Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has urged the federal government to pay special attention while presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 as only projects of federal importance will be carried out by the federation. During separate discussions with the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation regarding the budget preparation for the upcoming fiscal year, Finance Minister Poudel urged the government to focus on large projects, keeping in mind the responsibilities and roles of the provincial and local governments.
He mentioned that in federalism, the federation does not need to do the work done by the provincial and local levels. Finance Minister Poudel said that the practice of federalism will be strengthened only by transferring authority and responsibility to the provincial and local levels and moving forward. He has also requested to focus on the implementation of projects that are in preparation and the preparation of important projects that will be needed in the coming days.
Noting that there is no possibility of a stronger government being formed from the current parliament, Finance Minister Poude said that this government will formulate a new budget in accordance with the needs of the country and the wishes of the people in consultation with all parties.
