Bhojpur. The blacktopping of the Dudhkoshi-Chuhar-Falamdhunga-Ghodetar road in the district has begun. With the aim of further strengthening the transport network, 83-year-old Kirat Nangchung Karna Bahadur Rai inaugurated the road blacktopping according to Kirat Mundumi customs on Monday.
This road, which is the shortest route connecting Bhojpur to the Terai districts from the southern region, will be constructed under the budget of the Rural Road Network Improvement Project (RCIP) Implementation Unit, Koshi Province.
This 22.7-kilometer road is being blacktopped at a cost of Rs 729.8 million. The inauguration program was attended by Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality Chairman Prem Kumar Rai, construction business representative Arjun Dahal and local residents.
Rural Municipality Chairman Rai said that this road will facilitate the connection of Hatuwagadhi with the Terai districts. Once this road is blacktopped, it will be easier for the citizens of the district to move around. According to Chairman Rai, the blacktop of the Dudhkoshi-Chuhar-Falamdhunga-Ghodetar road, which has been inaugurated, plays a major role in connecting the southern region with the Terai districts.
The representative of the construction company, Dahal, said that the goal is to start the road construction work simultaneously from four places. It is said that the road will have a positive impact on the economic and social development of Bhojpur.
A local action officer of Hatuwagadhi-5, Homtang, Rai said that the construction of the Dudhkoshi-Chuhar-Falamdhunga-Ghoretar road will strengthen the district’s transportation facilities. He said that after the construction of the road, along with the marketing of agricultural produce, it will also have a positive impact on sectors such as education and health.
