Birgunj. BIRGUNJ: Birgunj Barshons has won the title of Marwari Premier League cricket tournament held in Birgunj. Birgunj Bashars defeated Titan XI by six wickets in the final match held at Adarshnagar Stadium on Wednesday night.
Batting first, Titan XI scored 75 runs in 15 overs for the loss of four wickets. In reply, Birgunj scored 78 runs for the loss of four wickets in 7.3 overs.
The winning team received Rs 251,000, while the runners-up titan-11 received Rs 200,000 and a certificate. Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh and Parsa Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal handed over the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
Sarbnath of Birgunj Bashars won the ‘Player of the Series’ title. Gautam Agarwal of Titan XI was adjudged the best batsman.
