Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chief Whip Mahesh Bartola has said that the Nepal Council of Legal Practitioners (Second Amendment) Bill should not be held too much in the committee.
He said this while speaking at a meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee held at Singha Durbar on Monday to discuss the Nepal Council of Legal Practitioners (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS.
He stressed the need to make a work schedule to move forward without holding the bill in the committee for a long time, irrespective of the time sought while discussing the bill. He urged the chair to convene a meeting of the committee to discuss the bill in accordance with the overall situation and in favour of all.
He said that the committee meeting should be convened continuously keeping in mind the parliament meeting and the bill should be finalized.
“It is a matter of how many meetings will reach 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 while discussing,” he said. My appeal and request to the Hon’ble Chairman is that let us prepare a work schedule so that this bill does not hold on to the committee for a long time. For this, I urge you to continue this meeting and move forward keeping this meeting available keeping in mind the overall situation, compatibility of all and also the parliament meeting. ‘
He urged the government to take forward the discussion programmes considering the bill as important.
