Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan has said that the issue of buying justice should be controlled.

He said this while speaking at a meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee held at Singha Durbar on Monday to discuss the Nepal Council of Legal Practitioners (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS.

He said that the bill has now been brought to fix fees to control the issue that the aggrieved parties can buy justice, adding that it is very important. Stating that there is no need for the victims who do not have prosperity to feel justice, he said that the bill has been prepared to make the fees charged by lawyers and advocates transparent.

He claimed that the ministry has given special attention to the victims. Pradhan expressed the belief that the bill would control the fees charged by lawyers and advocates to take the victims to the court.

“It is very important that efforts are being made to determine the fees by making provisions in order to control the fact that the aggrieved parties can buy justice,” he said. In fact, the aggrieved party, who does not have prosperity, cannot feel that justice has been done. Because of this, the way the charges have been made now, the ministry seems to be paying special attention to the victims. It has been mentioned in how it is customary to charge fees to easily get the right thing to the victim to the court, it was very necessary to organize it. ‘

He argued that the issues mentioned in the bill including raising the standard of legal practitioners were very important and timely.
