Bill needed to improve tourism sector: Minister Pandey

Kathmandu. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey has said that the ‘Tourism Bill, 2081 BS’ is necessary for the improvement of the tourism sector.

Presenting a proposal to consider the ‘Tourism Bill- 2081 BS’ in today’s meeting of the National Assembly, he clarified that tourism is an important sector for Nepal’s economy.

Members Dr Anjan Shakya, Ganga Kumari Belwase, Kiran Babu Shrestha, Taraman Suwar, Suresh Kumar Ale Magar, Gopi Bahadur Achhami and Tulsa Kumari Dahal, among others, stressed the need for supporting the national economy.

After the discussion on the bill, Minister Pandey said that there is a lot of potential from nepal’s natural and cultural point of view. He pledged to promote tourism through coordination at the federal, provincial and local levels.

The proposal was unanimously approved by the committee. National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal said that the members who want to move the amendment to the bill can go to the bill branch and move the amendment.

The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held at 1:15 pm on Wednesday.
