Dang. Bids have been invited for the construction of a four-lane road connecting Ghorahi-Tulsipur in Dang. The contract for the road, which will be built with a loan from the Indian Exim Bank, was awarded to the Indian company Fath Engineering and Infra Project six years ago. But after the company handed over the responsibility to another Nepali contractor company, the road construction could not gain momentum.

The last time Shrestha Construction was given the responsibility of building the road was on Falgun 26, 2078 BS. The Nepal government had terminated the contract agreement after widespread protests saying that the company had also left the work by creating large potholes on the right and left sides of the road.

Now, the Madan Bhandari Highway Project Directorate has again invited the contract at the cost of the Nepal government. The cost of the project is Rs 3.19 billion. According to Engineer Deep Barahi, Director of the Madan Bhandari Highway Project Directorate, the application period is until Falgun 30. According to him, instead of four lanes in some places and two lanes in others like in the past, there will be four-lane roads in all sections.

In the past, there was a proposal to build only two lanes in the market area. The 21-kilometer road section from DK Petrol Pump in Ghorahi to Hatikhauwa in Tulsipur will be 30 meters wide. The project work will proceed to complete the work within 36 months of the agreement.
