Kathmandu. The government has decided to allow airlines operating international flights in Nepal to operate a certain number of flights from Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said this during the budget speech for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS. According to him, the process of construction of Nijgadh International Airport would be forwarded using alternative development finance.
He said rs 4.15 billion has been allocated for the development of boutique airport by expanding the capacity of Tribhuvan International Airport to manage the increasing passenger load.
He said pokhara international airport would be developed into a tourist hub. He said necessary facilities would be provided to bring Gautam Buddha International Airport into operation in a way that would be affordable for tourists and workers.
