Myagdi. Ten years after the upgrade and capacity expansion, the infrastructure of the Provincial Hospital Beni is ready. Beni Hospital, which was upgraded from 15 to 50 beds in 2072 BS, has started operating services from a new concrete building.
Dil Kumari Khatri, acting head of the District Coordination Committee Myagdi, who is also the chairperson of the Hospital Management Committee, informed that the hospital’s services, which were being operated from a temporary building, have been started from the new building. ‘We have operated the services of the internal medicine department from the new building,’ she said, ‘We are preparing to shift other services to the new building after the construction work, which has reached the final stage, is complete.’
After the old external medicine department building was demolished in 2074 BS to build a concrete building, the services were operated from a temporary building. An agreement was signed with Mahadev Khimti-Galwa-Rafina JV and Urban Development and Building Project Baglung on 21st Mangsir 2073 for the construction of the hospital building. The contract agreement was signed for 188.4 million eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine crores, and the project was supposed to be completed on 20th Mangsir 2076 as per the target. Project engineer Birbal Sunar said that 95 percent of the building construction work has been completed.
Only the cleaning of the building and the blacktopping of 500 meters of the road outside are left. The work of plastering and painting the interior of the three four-story buildings, constructed on an area of 4,963 square meters, installing electricity, water, windows, doors and tiles has reached the final stage.
