‘Bagmati Province to make arrangements for revenue payment through electronic means’

Bagmati. Bagmati Province Government’s Minister for Labor, Employment and Transport, Prem Bhakta Maharjan, has said that the province will make arrangements for revenue payment through electronic means as soon as possible. Inspecting the Transport Management Office, Hetauda today, he informed that legal reforms are being carried out to end the obligation of service recipients to stand in line at the bank and wait in line at the office to get a receipt even after paying fees and taxes.

He informed that since the Transport Sector Service Delivery and Revenue Payment Regulations, 2078 have been formulated through electronic means, the payment system will be implemented through electronic means as soon as possible. According to Minister Maharjan, one can update the details of one’s vehicle from the ministry’s website and pay vehicle tax along with renewing the bill book.

He informed that the provincial government has made arrangements for viewing the driver’s license through the Nagarik app and that it is being fully implemented. Minister Maharjan said that if a driver violates traffic rules, the traffic police will fine him through the QR code under the Driving License Information System of the same app.

Says that the Bagmati Province government is developing a new system in the coming days with the aim of linking the application for driving licenses and other services with the national identity card and providing them through an online system. Minister Maharjan informed that the development of the related working procedures has reached the final stage.

During the inspection, Minister Maharjan also interacted with the office employees and service recipients. Prabin Shrestha, Office Chief of the Transport Management Office, Hetauda, said that the complaints and queries of the service recipients are relevant. He informed that the service delivery is taking time as the office is obliged to perform its work in accordance with the financial procedures, financial responsibility regulations and other prevailing laws.
