Anti-republic activities not acceptable under any circumstances: Minister Gurung

Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said that anti-federal democratic republic activities would not be acceptable under any circumstances.

Making public the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on May 14, he made it clear that any activity against the federal democratic system of governance would not be tolerated.

Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said, “The federal democratic republic was established on May 15. This is a day of pride and celebration of all Nepali people. It is meaningless for the former king’s supporters to oppose the republican system. ’

Stating that no one has the freedom to speak and protest in a democracy, no one will be allowed to attack the sovereignty and carry out violent activities, he clarified that action would be taken against anyone involved in activities against the existing regime as per the law.

“The government can impose a ban to protect the people if violence takes a violent turn,” he said, adding, “Activities against the federal democratic republic are not acceptable under any circumstances.” ’

Addressing a press conference, Minister Gurung shared that the government has decided to approve the ‘Economic Reform Implementation Action Plan- 2082 BS’ prepared for the implementation of the recommendations of the High Level Economic Reform Suggestion Commission, 2081 BS.

According to Minister Gurung, the Council of Ministers has decided to give approval to Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari to participate in the ‘Fourth Dialogue on Exchange and Michwal Learning Among Civilizations’ program to be held in the People’s Republic of China from May 11 to 29.

According to Minister Gurung, the government has decided to remove and manage the river products deposited in the middle of the Mahakali river around the newly constructed four-lane Mahakali Bridge and to give approval for temporary river control required for flood-related disasters through the Nepal Army.

The government has decided to extend the tenure of one general of the Medical Sub-Group under the Nepal Army, Military Technical Service and Military Health Group. Similarly, the Cabinet meeting also decided to give approval to Minister of State for Forest and Environment Rupa BK to participate in the ‘Leaders Round Tables of the International Conference on Glassier’s Preservation’ to be held at Deshanbe, Republic of Tajiksthan from May 15 to 27.

Similarly, the Ministry of Urban Development has decided to approve the Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee (Fifth Amendment) Order, 2062, and to provide 12658.60 square meters of land owned by the Surkhet Valley Town Development Committee of the Ministry of Urban Development to the Karnali State government for the purpose of the administrative building construction of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Karnali State.
