Kathmandu. Police arrested 46-year-old American citizen Ni Yan on Saturday afternoon with foreign currency that she was trying to smuggle abroad. She was about to leave Kathmandu for Malaysia on a Batik Air flight and was arrested at the departure hold baggage area of Tribhuvan International Airport.
During the investigation, police found 12,748 US dollars, 249 Singapore dollars, 12,000 Indonesian rupiah, 100 Malaysian ringgit, 19 mobile phones of various companies, 28 SIM cards and 122 memory cards in her bag and arrested her, the police said. She has been sent to Police Circle Gaushala for necessary investigation and action.
