Taplejung. After about four months, air services have resumed at Suketar Airport here from today.
Regular flights were suspended since the last week of November after two Nepal Airlines aircraft operating at Suketar Airport encountered problems. The flight schedule scheduled for Friday was postponed to today due to technical problems.
The aircraft carrying five passengers from Kathmandu took six people, including four men and two women, from Taplejung to Kathmandu, according to Suketar Airport. Due to the long-term suspension of air services, domestic and foreign tourists and the general public were unable to avail air services.
A few years ago, Sita Air and Tara Air operated flights to this airport during the tourist season. They have now ceased service.
