Kathmandu. An Air India flight from Phuket Island to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday shortly after taking off due to a bomb threat, thai airports authority said.
The incident comes a day after a London-bound Air India passenger jet crashed in Ahmedabad. At least 265 people were killed in the Ahmedabad plane crash.
Thailand’s airport said on its Facebook page for Phuket that the Airbus A320 pilot had radio broadcast a message to air traffic control that a bomb threat message had been found on the plane.
Flight tracking website FlightRadar24 showed the Phuket flight took a U-turn over the Andaman Sea shortly after take-off and then circumambulated the island’s coast several times before landing.
