Bhadrapur. Agricultural products worth Rs 17.73 billion have been exported from the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Center Quarantine Office, Kakadbhitta in the eight months of the current fiscal year.
According to the office’s information officer, Chandreshwor Thakur, the main items exported include cardamom, tea, plywood and veneer, ginger, and tamarind. During the eight-month period, the highest export value of tea was Rs 8.20 billion 96 million, cardamom Rs 5.24 billion 40 million, and ply and veneer Rs 2.73 billion 63 million.
Similarly, according to the office’s data, ginger was exported worth Rs 266 million 63 million, amliso Rs 769 million 77 million, banda Rs 81.7 million, herbs Rs 42 million 26 million, and lentils Rs 40 million.
According to Information Officer Thakur, agricultural goods worth Rs 2.40 billion 46 million 22 thousand have been imported from the eastern border during the same period. The main agricultural products imported include millet, pulses, rice, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, garlic, potatoes, corn, animal feed, etc.
According to the statistics of the Quarantine Office, millet worth Rs 131.71 million, rice worth Rs 49.7 million, and fresh vegetables worth Rs 288.7 million have been imported. Similarly, fresh fruits worth Rs 263.7 million, garlic worth Rs 624.6 million, and potatoes worth Rs 289.1 million have been imported, according to the Quarantine Office.
