According to Chandreshwor Thakur, Information Officer at the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Center Quarantine Office, the main items exported include cardamom, tea, plywood and veneer, ginger, and tamarind. He said that the highest export value of tea in the six months was Rs 6.82 billion, cardamom Rs 4.22 billion, and ply and veneer Rs 1.91 billion. 13 million.
Similarly, ginger was exported at Rs 26.13 million, amliso at Rs 49.74 million, banda at Rs 8.17 million, herbs at Rs 26.3 million, and lentils at Rs 5.5 million. Information Officer Thakur informed that agricultural goods worth Rs 1.96 billion were imported from the eastern border during the same period.
The main imported items include millet, groundnuts, pulses, rice, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, garlic, potatoes, corn, animal feed, etc. According to the Quarantine Office’s statistics, millet worth 109.568 million, rice worth 33.3 million, and fresh vegetables worth 182.3 million have been imported. Similarly, fresh fruits worth 201.8 million, garlic worth 617.5 million, and potatoes worth 217.4 million have been imported, according to the Quarantine Office.
