Agreement between CBIFIN and Kathmandu Fintech to develop leadership in the banking sector

Kathmandu. Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBIFIN) and Kathmandu Fintech Pvt. Ltd. (KF) has signed a historic strategic partnership agreement with the aim of promoting digital transformation, leadership development, and good governance in the Nepali banking sector.

The agreement was signed at the CBIFIN office, Sundhara, by Roshan Koirala, Director General of CBIFIN, and Sanjeev Subba, Founder of Kathmandu Fintech.

Speaking after the agreement signing, Roshan Koirala, Director General of CBIFIN, said, “This important collaboration with Kathmandu Fintech will prove to be a milestone in transforming the Nepali banking sector into digital technology and making it more robust, secure, competitive, and innovation-oriented.”

Similarly Sanjeev Subba, Founder of Kathmandu Fintech, said, “We are excited to be involved in this strategic partnership with CBIFIN, which is continuously working towards qualitative improvement, development and expansion of the banking sector in Nepal. It is a great achievement for us to have the opportunity to provide world-class knowledge on digital banking, cyber security and fintech to the board members and distinguished banking leaders of Nepali banks and financial institutions.” This collaboration will make a significant contribution to the upgrading of digital banking, technology-driven innovation and overall financial services.’

The agreement states that the two sides will collaborate in organizing orientation training and training programs and high-level conferences for board members of banks and financial institutions on the latest technology, policies, practices, regulations, good governance, compliance, strategic financial management, digital technology and fintech adoption processes in the banking sector and cybersecurity, conducting special trainings on strategic leadership development and decision-making capacity enhancement, and conducting projects to promote banking access and inclusive financial literacy for social and economic transformation, ethical banking practices, and good governance.

Similarly, the report will be prepared by conducting studies and research on the pressing challenges and opportunities in the banking sector, entrepreneurship and innovation. It is stated that it will also be made public.

As per the agreement, Kathmandu Fintech will provide program planning, resource management, and technical expertise, while CBIFIN will support the effective implementation of the projects through its network and strategic guidance.

The partners believe that this collaboration will play an important role in making Nepal’s banking sector, which is on the journey of digital transformation, more digitally friendly, strategically empowered, and focused on good governance, stronger.
