Kathmandu. The government is preparing to reduce the age of getting old age allowance from the next fiscal year. Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Nawal Kishore Sah Sudi has said that the age of getting old age allowance is being reduced by two years to 68 years with effect from the next fiscal year.
Replying to an oral question in the House of Representatives, Minister Shah said that the age of getting old age allowance is going to be increased to 68 years from the next fiscal year. At present, the government has been providing old age allowance to citizens above 70 years of age. Such old age allowance is Rs 4,000 per month.
