Galkot. The Achate-Bhimapokhara road has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 15 million. Out of the five kilometers of the road, slopes have been made at eight places, while the road has been widened at some places to prevent landslides.

According to Raju Thapa, Chairman of Kathekhola Rural Municipality, the road has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 7 million, including Rs 5 million for Kathekhola Rural Municipality and Rs 2 million for Bhimapokhara Ward Office. Rs 8 million received from the Infrastructure Development Office has been spent on slope and landslide control. Work is ongoing at some places. Landslide control infrastructure will be built at four locations.

Chairman Thapa informed that the rural municipality has not allocated sufficient budget to blacktop the Achete-Bhimapokhara road, so a request has been made to the central government and a detailed project report has also been submitted.
