Access to basic drinking water services 96.85%

Kathmandu. According to the economic survey report presented by the government, about 96.85 percent of the country has access to basic drinking water services. According to the report presented by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel in the Parliament today, 96.85 percent of the population has access to basic drinking water services by February 2081.

According to the survey, 17 different drinking water projects have been completed till Mid-February of the current fiscal year and the completed projects have expanded drinking water services to an additional 205,569 population during this period.

According to the survey, under the second phase of melamchi drinking water project, 796 kilometers of pipes have been laid for the distribution of drinking water, out of which 760 kilometers pipeline has been laid by February 2081.

Similarly, 265 government schools, 46 government buildings and 89 public buildings in the Kathmandu Valley have so far installed water harvesting technology at 400 places.
