Kathmandu. National Independent Party President Dr. Swarnim Wagle has accused the appointment of a rubber stamp governor in a setting. Participating in the discussion on the government’s policies and programs in the House of Representatives, Dr. Wagle has accused the appointment of a rubber stamp governor in a setting.
He also commented that the status of the government, which has a two-thirds majority and is made up of the two largest parties in parliament, has been exposed in the appointment of the governor.
‘The appointment of the governor of a small national bank has been pending for two months. By setting up a committee and setting up a rubber stamp, a rubber stamp will be appointed, and that too is a matter of concern.’
He has been raising the issue of the dominance of middlemen in the government for a long time. He had also written a note of dissent in the Finance Committee meeting on the new stock exchange license. Even after that, he has been criticizing the new stock exchange license being brought in the interests of middlemen.
Dr. Wagle has been making public statements saying that the appointment of governors is also dominated by middlemen.
Nepal Rastra Bank has been without a governor since Chaitra 24, 2081. Dr. Neelam Dhungana is working as the acting governor.
Dr. Dhungana, Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, Gyanendra Dhungana, Dev Kumar Dhakal, Ashok Sherchan, Prakash Shrestha, Bam Bahadur Mishra and others are in the running to become the governor. There is a recommendation committee headed by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel and comprising Dr. Bishwa Poudel and Mahaprasad Adhikari to select the governor. Adhikari was made a member after Bijayanath Bhattarai, who was previously on the recommendation committee, resigned.
