Dhorpatan. A hiking trail has been constructed to connect Narsinghkot, a tourist area located in Nisikhola Rural Municipality-7 of Baglung. A hiking trail with railings has been constructed to connect Narsinghkot with Burtiwang Bazaar.
It is stated that the hiking trail has been constructed to easily reach Narsinghkot for domestic and foreign tourists. The hiking trail was constructed through the Tourism and Industry Office, Baglung.
The hiking trail was constructed with a budget of Rs 1 million allocated by the Gandaki Province government in the current fiscal year, informed Narayan Prasad Rija, Planning Officer of the Tourism and Industry Office, Baglung.
The hiking trail was constructed through the Consumer Committee. Rijal said that the construction of the trail, including about 250 concrete railings, has been completed from Sera in Dhorpatan Municipality-2. Narsinghkot, which was ruled by Bhure Raja during the Baise Chaubise kingdom, has recently attracted increasing domestic tourists.
Nisikhola Rural Municipality-7 Chairman Deepak Kunwar said that domestic tourists are increasing as Narsinghkot becomes a tourist destination. He said that even though Burtibang Bazaar is nearby, it is now easier to reach Narsinghkot. Along with the trekking route, Chairman Kunwar informed that the rural municipality has built structures such as Kalika Temple, drinking water, toilets, rest areas and others in this area at a cost of Rs 2 million.
According to him, a playground is under construction at that place. To reach Narsinghkot, it takes one hour by car from Burtibang Bazaar and one and a half hours on foot. He says that since there is no alternative road to reach there other than the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road, it will be a long journey by vehicle.
Chairman Kunwar said, ‘Despite having many possibilities, Narsinghkot was overlooked in the past, but now it has come into the limelight. Now tourists arrive every day, and even more tourists come here for sightseeing on holidays. Now we have also emphasized infrastructure construction and publicity to promote this area.’
From Narsinghkot, various places in Baglung, including Burtibang Bazaar, Myagdi, Pyuthan, Gulmi, Rolpa, Rukum, Palpa, Arghakhanchi and other districts can be seen, while dozens of mountain ranges including the Dhaulagiri Himal and The high mountain areas can be easily viewed.
