Kathmandu. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that everyone needs to cooperate to reduce cervical cancer. He said this while addressing a program organized on the occasion of World Cancer Day in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
He said that a lot of work remains to be done to prevent cancer and that a lot of work needs to be done in the therapeutic and preventive fields. He said that the problem of cervical cancer is huge and it should be reduced through the cooperation of everyone.
He said that everyone needs to take the initiative to reach the level of cancer prevention, saying, “Especially, we need to do a lot of work to prevent cancer. We need to work in the therapeutic field as well. We need to work in the preventive field as well. Today, many of my mothers, my sisters, and my colleagues have died from cervical cancer. We have data that 4 people die every day. How can we reduce this and bring it to the level of elimination, that is the goal of Nepal. It is necessary to take all the initiatives to bring it to the level of elimination.’
Minister Poudel said that despite the desire to work, there is a lack of necessary resources and means, and if we cooperate, cancer can be reduced.
