Gorkha. The construction of the Kharkhola Bridge in Dhungetari, Palungtar Municipality-9 of the district has been completed with seven months remaining before the scheduled completion date. The Shree Ganesh Amrit JV Company, which signed a contract agreement in Chaitra last year to complete it within eighteen months, completed the construction last Falgun.

Ganesh Subedi, Head of the Infrastructure Development Office, Gorkha, said that the construction work of the bridge was completed within the first week of Falgun. He informed that the construction work of the bridge started on Baisakh 5.

‘Work was done in Baisakh and Jestha. Work was also done in half of Ashar. No work could be done for four months in Ashar, Shrawan, Bhadra, and Asoj,’ he said. ‘After working continuously after Kartik, the bridge was ready in four months. Now, the program to inaugurate the bridge has been scheduled by Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Pandey in a few days.’

This has been a lesson for construction entrepreneurs who do not complete the work on time. He says that it is a good thing to complete the work within about nine months even though the contract was to be completed in eighteen months.

‘Those who do good work should be praised, here are examples of bridges not being built even after five years, and many project contracts having to be canceled,’ says Office Chief Subedi, ‘But the construction of the Dhungetari bridge so quickly is commendable. If all the plans were implemented in this way, the development of the district would have been rapid.’

The under-construction Kharkhola Bridge at Dhungetari, which is twenty-five meters long and 8.4 meters wide, has a cost of Rs 27.5 million.
