80% households in Sankhuwasabha get electricity

Sankhuwasabha. Sankhuwasabha: 80 per cent households in the mountainous district of Sankhuwasabha have access to electricity. Speaking at a discussion programme with stakeholders held at Khandbari today, Chief of NeA Provincial Office, Biratnagar, Rajiv Singh, said preparations were underway to provide electricity to the remaining 20 per cent households soon.

Meanwhile, the Electricity Authority Sankhuwasabha has recovered rs 5.9 million from 542 consumers who did not pay the electricity bills. Chief of Khandbari Distribution Centre, Satrudhan Yadav, said that they have been able to collect the amount within 10 months after launching a campaign to cut electricity from consumers who do not pay the electricity bill in the district headquarters Khandbari and Chainpur Bazar area.

Yadav informed that an additional Rs 600,000 has been collected from the blacklisted customers. According to NEA, sankhuwasabha currently has more than 28,732 electricity consumers. According to nea, rs 241.9 million was collected as revenue in the last fiscal year.
