Kathmandu. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, remittances worth Rs 763.8 billion have entered Nepal. According to data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, remittances have increased by 4.1 percent as of mid-December.
In the same period of the previous year, remittances had increased by 22.2 percent. In US dollars, remittances increased by 1.1 percent to Rs 5.58 billion, according to the data. The previous year, such inflows had increased by 19.5 percent.
During the review period, net secondary income (self-transfer) reached 832.76 billion, while in the same period of the previous year, such income was 799.54 billion.
During the review period, the number of Nepalis who obtained final labor permits (institutional and individual new) for foreign employment was 2,30,439 and the number of those who obtained re-labor permits was 1,62,628. In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 2,06,390 and 1,33,940, respectively.
