Kathmandu. Five domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers in South Korea will voluntarily recall about 76,000 vehicles due to manufacturing defects. The Korean Ministry of Transport said the affected vehicles are from five different brands.
Kia Corp. will recall 35,571 units of two different models, including the Niro electric vehicle (EV), for faulty airbag systems, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
BMW Korea will recall 24,371 units of 28 models, including the 528i sedan, due to a problem with the cooling pump wire connector, which poses a fire risk.
Software errors in the transformer and hybrid control system have caused the failure of Renault Korea Motors’ Arcana Hybrid Sport 8,056 units of two models, including a utility vehicle (SUV), have been recalled.
Tesla Korea will correct software errors in the Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system on 7,781 units of the Model Y.
Jaguar Land Rover Korea will take corrective action on 603 units of four models, including the Defender 110 A300 SUV.
Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centers to replace defective parts free of charge. RSS
