75,000 people visited Gorkha Durbar Museum in 8 months

Gorkha. Over 75,000 people have visited the Gorkha Durbar Museum, which is being developed as a place to study the history of Nepal’s unification, in the past eight months. From Shrawan to Magh of the current fiscal year, 75,791 people, including domestic and foreign tourists, visited the museum, informed the museum’s chief, Jayanarayan Karki.

According to him, the largest number of those visiting the museum are students who come on educational tours. ‘You can understand and study the history of Nepal’s unification at the Gorkha Durbar Museum,’ said Chief Karki. ‘Students come here from many districts to observe the museum during the educational tour season.’

Similarly, tourists from SAARC countries and other countries also visit the Gorkha Durbar Museum, he said. According to Chief Karki, 43,848 students have visited the museum since Shrawan. Similarly, 30,704 domestic tourists, 1,166 third-country tourists, and 73 SAARC tourists have visited the museum. The museum allows tourists to study the history of the Shah dynasty kings, including Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of Nepal.

The museum has Prithvi Narayan Shah’s china, utensils, manapathi, weapons and various artistic materials for observation. The three-sided window, tundal, and 16-storied artistic veranda full of woodwork are additional attractions of the museum.

Similarly, there are 12 exhibition rooms in the museum, including dummies reflecting the culture and traditions of different ethnic groups, a divine sermon room, a genealogy room, and a religious tradition room. This museum has been in operation since 2065.
