Birgunj. The Bara-based Transport Management Office, Kalaiya, has collected more than Rs 73.6 million in revenue by the first week of Baisakh of the current fiscal year. Office Chief Avinder Das informed that the revenue collected by the office has been increasing enthusiastically in recent times and Rs 73.6 million 57 thousand 675 in revenue has been collected so far.
The office had collected Rs 43 million in revenue from Shrawan to the first week of Magh. Since then, Rs 36.55 million in revenue has been collected till the first week of Baisakh. “The rate of revenue collection has been gradually increasing in recent months,” he said.
According to the office, an average of Rs 10.2 million has been collected per month for the past three months. The office has stated that revenue collection has increased as it has streamlined internal governance and service flow.
Out of this amount, the highest revenue of Rs 35.44 million, 40 thousand 56 has been collected from fees related to driving licenses and vehicle registration books and Rs 34.39 million, 943 from vehicle tax.
The office has stated that Rs 40.84 million, 540 has been collected from the income of the transportation sector. Rs 25,500 has been collected from other administrative service fees and An amount of Rs 67,336 has been collected for the tax evasion. The office estimates that around Rs 100 million in revenue will be collected in the current fiscal year.
