Bhaktapur. On the occasion of Mahashivaratri festival, 60,000 devotees worshipped and observed the Shir Doleshwar Mahadev Temple of Kedarnath on Wednesday.
According to Harisharan Basnet, General Secretary of the Shir Doleshwar Mahadev Temple Conservation and Development Committee of Kedarnath located in Sipadol, Suryabinayak Municipality-8, arrangements were made to open all four doors of the temple from 4 am on Wednesday and enter the temple and worship the Mahadev stone itself.
On the day of Mahashivaratri, arrangements were made to provide devotees with worship materials and a five-day bath for Rs. 1,100. General Secretary Basnet said that more than 60,000 Nepali and Indian tourists have worshipped and visited Doleshwor.
He informed that arrangements have been made for burning incense sticks in the temple premises throughout the night, special worship from midnight and worship for the saints on Thursday (today) at 4 am.
The three saints and fathers who will come to Doleshwor for the Shivaratri festival this year will be divided into ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ categories and given dakshina, dhoti and blankets, and will be sent off at 11 am today.
More than 25,000 also visited the famous Ashapuri on Wednesday, and about 14,000 visited the tall Kailashnath Mahadev in Sanga. And worshiped Gupteshwar Mahadev of Suryavinayak-1 Sirutar, Somalingeshwar Mahadev, Charkhandishwar Mahadev, Anantalingeshwar Mahadev of Ward No. 5, Suvarneshwar Mahadev, Kailashnath Mahadev of Ward No. 10 Chittpol Sanga, Latarmbeshwar Mahadev of Chittpol, Dattatraya Temple of Bhaktapur, Yatu Mahadev Temple, Nandikeshwar Mahadesh Temple of Nankhel, Machhenarayan Temple of Changunarayan. The adjoining Mahadesh temple, Sangameshwar Mahadev in Madhyapurthimi Radheradhe Sangam Colony was also crowded till evening.
