37.5 MW capacity Rahughat Hydropower Project completed, trial production underway

Myagdi. The 37.5 MW Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat Hydropower Project has been constructed in Raghuganga Rural Municipality. The project, promoted by Tudi Power Company Limited, has stated that it will start trial production within the next 15 days.

According to Prakash Timilsina, the project’s resident engineer, the equipment has been installed in the power house and the transmission line has also been prepared. A 14-kilometer-long 220 kV transmission line has been constructed to transmit the electricity generated by the project to the central system. This is the first hydropower project to be constructed in the Rahughat ‘basin’.
