34 killed in road accidents in 10 months

Parsa. At least 34 people lost their lives in road accidents in Parsa in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year. The District Police Office has been carrying out traffic awareness programmes once a week to reduce the number of deaths in road accidents.

Chief of The District Traffic Police Office, Lokraj Bhatta, said that the district has been conducting awareness programmes once a week to reduce the number of people killed in road accidents in the current fiscal year.

“We have been continuing the traffic awareness programme once a week,” he said, adding that 51 people lost their lives in road accidents in the last year.  This year, we have been paying special attention to reducing the number of deaths by spreading traffic awareness. ’

The office has also been continuing the campaign related to traffic awareness at Chowk-Chowk of Birgunj to reduce accidents. District Traffic Police Office and Ward Police Office Birta have organized a traffic awareness programme at Ghantaghar Chowk in Birgunj on Wednesday evening.

An hour-long training was conducted in Birgunj targeting traffic rule violators and drivers. Chief Lokraj Bhatta has urged the drivers and passengers to follow the traffic rules. “Many people are losing their lives due to road accidents,” he said. Therefore, we urge you to follow the precautionary measures to be taken to avoid accidents. ’

President of Samriddhi Nepal Foundation Suraj Saraf also shared that they have been carrying out necessary awareness programmes to reduce road accidents in Birgunj. Program coordinator Dilip Raj Karki said that traffic rules should be followed as the number of deaths due to vehicle accidents is higher than the disease.
