Kaski. The Nepal Former Players Forum Pokhara, an organization of senior players, has so far collected 3154 thousand 256 in the Player Akshay Kosh, which was started with the aim of producing talented players from the local level.
The forum has started the fund establishment campaign since last Magh with the aim of promoting the Pokhara Marathon, conducting monthly and weekly running competitions, and identifying players hidden in the villages to produce talented players.
The forum’s chairman Dil Bahadur Gurung said that the Akshay Kosh is being donated by the families of the forum’s lifelong members and deceased lifelong members scattered across the country and abroad in the memory of their relatives.
According to him, The forum has planned to raise Rs 20 million to the revolving fund this year. Chairman Gurung said, ‘This revolving fund is not only for collecting money, but also for the development of athletics, along with the production of young players, and for the weekly and monthly races started by the forum and the Pokhara International Marathon.’
Similarly, the 19th edition of the Pokhara International Marathon held in Pokhara on Falgun 3 saved Rs 1229,511. Forum treasurer Hari Bahadur Baruwal informed that the income was Rs 9370,689 and the expenditure was Rs 8141,177.
The amount saved in the Pokhara International Marathon is the highest so far. It is said that the Pokhara Marathon, which was postponed three times due to financial constraints, has also incurred losses in the three years after Covid.
Similarly, the forum has informed that the 20th edition of the Pokhara International Marathon will be organized on Falgun 2. The forum has stated that the player registration process for the 20th edition has begun.
