The District Disaster Management Committee has informed that 2,010 beneficiaries have not received the grant amount for the first installment even 16 months after the earthquake.
Assistant Chief District Officer Binod Regmi informed that this problem has arisen because the beneficiaries submitted their files after some delay. According to him, the Disaster Management Committee has decided to distribute the amount saved after the second installment is released to the beneficiaries proportionally as recommended by the local level and to demand the insufficient amount from the authority.
A total of 34,997 beneficiaries have been identified in the district, including 2,01 beneficiaries who could not even receive the first installment. Earlier, the first installment was distributed to only 32,996 beneficiaries in the district.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has already received both the first and second installments for 32,996 beneficiaries in the district who have entered the disaster portal. Of that, the second installment was distributed to only 31,881 beneficiaries from the local level through the District Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund, Assistant Chief District Officer Binod Regmi informed. Temporary housing was constructed with the help of other organizations.
He said that the last meeting of the District Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee approved the release of Rs 399.725 million from the District Disaster Fund to the Local Disaster Fund for 15,881 beneficiaries who had been duly requested by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee and had come to the District Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee for demand.
Earlier, Rs 400 million had been released and distributed for 16,000 beneficiaries at the rate of Rs 25,000 each. Along with this, 32,996 beneficiaries in the district have received the first and second installments of money for temporary housing.
