Jhapa. The district’s capital expenditure in the first six months of the current fiscal year has been 20.40 percent.
According to Manoj Timsina, Information Officer of the Treasury and Accounts Control Office, out of the allocation of Rs 10.55 billion 69 lakh 83 thousand 110 for the district, Rs 2.15 billion 36 lakh 2 thousand 884 has been spent till mid-December.
‘Out of the Rs 16.4 billion 89 lakh 45 thousand allocated for the current year, Rs 45.26, or Rs 7.26 billion 63 lakh, has been spent,’ he said. Overall, 45.26 percent, or Rs 9.41 billion 6.69 billion, was spent in the first six months of the current fiscal year, said Fund Controller Timsina.
According to him, the federal office and local level in the district have not been able to increase capital expenditure despite the timely release of the budget. By the month of Poush of the current fiscal year, the district has collected Rs 9.88 billion 2.671 billion 428 revenue.
Mechi Customs Office has collected the highest revenue of Rs 7.51 billion 3.55 billion during the said period.
