14 trade points between Nepal and China remain operational: Prime Minister

Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that 13 out of the 14 traditional trade points between Nepal and China have been reopened. He said this during a question-and-answer session with lawmakers in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday.

He said that diplomatic initiatives are being taken to reopen Uraibhanjyang in Bajhang district. He said that the procedure has been implemented to provide permission letters to Nepali citizens of the border districts for entry into China.

He said that an agreement was signed between Nepal and China in 2019 on the operation of trade points and border management. Prime Minister Oli said that although the border crossings remain operational, movement through some border crossings may be temporarily disrupted due to snowfall.
