Kathmandu. In the last one month, 11 people have lost their lives in fires across the country. Among them are three men, five women, two boys and one girl.
Central spokesperson of Nepal Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa, said that 67 people were injured in the fire during the same period. Among the injured were 27 men, 32 women and eight children.
He said that with the increase in fire incidents, there is a huge physical and human loss. Although the citizens are aware, the incident can be prevented. According to police, 151 houses, 101 cowsheds and three government offices have been damaged in the fire in a month. A total of 189 animals have also died in the fire.
According to police data, the fires have caused financial loss of more than Rs 241.95 million. As many as 110 families have been displaced by the fire. According to the Police Headquarters, 634 fire incidents were reported in a month.
How many fire incidents in which state?
According to the police, the highest number of fire incidents took place in Lumbini province in the month of April. A total of 143 fire incidents have been reported in the state. Since then, 136 fire incidents have taken place in Koshi province. Similarly, 104 fire incidents have taken place in Madhes province.
Similarly, 64 fire incidents were reported in Bagmati Province, 32 in Kathmandu Valley, 53 in Gandaki Province, 43 in Karnali Province and 59 in SudurPaschim Province. Experts associated with fire have said that many fire incidents are caused by human causes.
