Dhorpatan. Baglung: Jaimini Municipality of Baglung has started promoting the tourism area Hatidhunga. The municipality has laid emphasis on the construction of a pre-base in Hathidhunga, which was anonymous until a decade ago, due to the increasing attraction of religious tourists in recent times.
According to the local elders of Dhunga, the elephant was found around 2006 BS. There is an elephant-like trunk on a big stone. Although the villagers have been worshiping the stone as Ganesha since 2012 BS, not many devotees used to go from outside. Tourists from Jaimini and surrounding areas have been arriving now after the publicity has started.
The municipality has been constructing tourism infrastructure in the Hatidhunga area. This year too, the federal ministry of urban development has allocated Rs 10 million for the construction of the road. Deputy Mayor Harihar Sharma said the road connecting Barikhet to Hatidhunga was constructed at a cost of Rs 5 million and a temple, playground and sattal were constructed at a cost of Rs 5 million.
Sharma said that earlier, structures including drinking water and toilets have been constructed. Sharma said that the Shiva temple has been constructed at the same place as the locals used to worship Siddhibinayak Ganesh Temple earlier.
Deputy Mayor Sharma said, “Hatidhunga is a major tourist destination of Jaimini, we are developing it in terms of tourism and religion, the number of devotees coming here has also increased in recent times, there is a huge investment of citizens here, so far more than Rs 14 million has been invested by various agencies of the state. ‘
Tul Bahadur Thapa, a local, said that religious tourists have started increasing in recent times as people believe that their aspirations will be fulfilled after worshiping here. According to him, devotees from Jaimini, Bareng, Baglung, Gulmi and other places come here as there is a big worship on Shivaratri.
Thapa said that earlier only the locals of the village used to worship today, now the movement of devotees from far and wide has increased. It is necessary to make the road leading up to here more systematic, he said.
