Kathmandu. Nepali Congress lawmaker Binod Chaudhary has said that banks and financial institutions should be allowed to open branches abroad.
At a meeting of the Finance Committee held at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Bafia said that the bill has not been included in the clause-wise discussion held today.
He said that it should be rewritten and arrangements should be made in this regard. According to him, bank branches should be opened in those places where there are more Nepalis.
He said, “Bafia draft has been kept for two years. A lot has changed now. Bafia should be sent back. This bill should be redrafted from a new perspective. Nepal’s banks should also be allowed to go out. Bank branches should be opened in Australia and Malaysia. Why can’t The Nepali Bank collect nepali capital?”
According to him, the current state of the economy is slow. The money with the banks is not being invested. Stating that the morale of bankers and industrialists has not increased, he said that the illusion that industrialists and investors take money should be removed if they invest in banks.
