Kathmandu. Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Panta has clarified that the budget allocation for the education sector is in line with the federal structure. Responding to questions raised on the Appropriation Bill of the Ministry of Education in the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Minister Panta said that most of the budget under the education sector would be implemented through the local level.
Stating that the federal government has not allocated budget by earmarking any specific school, he said the local levels could use the budget on priority basis. He claimed that the ministry has also made sub-sectoral allocation of resources on the basis of priority and need.
Stating that the budget of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has been fixed on the basis of the number of schools, number of students and policy-directives, he clarified that no geographical area has been neglected. Minister Panta pledged to give priority to the education sector as the resources of the state increase.
