Kathmandu. CPN (Unified Socialist) lawmaker Udaya Bahadur Bohara has urged the government to provide adequate quantity of fertilizers to the farmers. He made the demand while speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Although the demand for fertilizers in Nepal ranges from 11 to 13 metric tonnes, the government has been able to import only four metric tonnes, he said. He said the government should be serious in supplying fertilizers to the farmers at the time of sowing paddy.
He also expressed concern over the decline in paddy production if farmers are not able to produce enough fertilizer at the time of paddy sowing.
