Parsa. Goods and goods worth Rs 434.26 billion have entered Nepal through neighbouring India in the 11 months of the current fiscal year. Goods imported from India account for 76.80 percent of the total imports through this border point.
Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at Birgunj Customs Office, said that india has the highest share of import and export through this border point.
Foreign trade through this border point is very much connected to India. Argentina is one of the countries that imports most goods and goods after India. Goods and goods worth Rs 46.74 billion have arrived from Argentina in the 11 months of the current fiscal year.
The share of goods imported from the country is 8.27 percent. Similarly, goods and goods worth Rs 28.86 billion were imported from neighbouring China during the same period.
The share of imports from China is 1.22 percent. Goods and goods worth Rs 565.42 billion have been imported from 50 countries in the 11 months of the current fiscal year.
Similarly, goods and goods worth Rs 91.51 billion have been exported to foreign countries through Birgunj border point in the last 11 months of the current fiscal year. Goods and goods worth Rs 86.97 billion have been exported to India in the last 11 months. India’s export share is 95.05 per cent.
The US is the second largest export country in the same period. Goods and goods worth Rs 2.18 billion, or 2.38 per cent of the total exports, have been exported. Similarly, goods and goods worth Rs 680 million were exported to Afghanistan through this border point in the same period.
