Chemical fertilizers worth 363.9 million sold to farmers

Dhanusha. Agricultural Materials Company Limited Janakpurdham branch has sold and distributed chemical fertilizers worth 363.963 million in the current fiscal year 2081/82 so far. According to the company, urea worth 143.22 million, DAP worth 222.65 million and potash worth 84.75 million have been sold and distributed so far, said the acting office chief of the office, Bechan Sah.

According to the office, the company has received 8,172 metric tons of urea since the fiscal year 2081/82 so far, said Chief Sah. Similarly, 5,258 metric tons of DAP and 297 metric tons of potash have been received.

According to Chief Sah, the company has so far sold and distributed 8,488.150 metric tons of urea, 4,835.150 metric tons of DAP and 249.200 metric tons of potash from the chemical fertilizers received. According to Chief Sah, the remaining balance of last year was 962.50 metric tons of urea, 83.750 metric tons of DAP and 98.50 metric tons of potash.

According to the office, the selling price of urea per bag in the current fiscal year is Rs. 850/50 paisa, DAP is Rs. 23 thousand and potash is Rs. 17 thousand, informed Acting Chief Sales Sah. The Agricultural Materials Company Limited Janakpur branch has been distributing the fertilizer through 209 dealers in Dhanusha district and Mahottari district. As per the Fertilizer Directive, 2077, there is a local fertilizer distribution management committee in each municipality. The committee, which has the deputy mayor or vice-mayor as the chief coordinator and the administrative officer as its members, the chief of the agriculture branch and the agricultural member secretary, has taken the responsibility of managing the rates, black market control, and sale and distribution of chemical fertilizers.

Sah said that the Ministry of Land Management and Cooperatives has been distributing fertilizers through the Agricultural Materials Company Limited dealers as per the quota set by the municipalities in the respective districts. According to the details received, so far, a decision to increase the quota of DAP fertilizer has been made and is in the process of being made, said Chief Sah. The fertilizer has been sold and distributed for rice, wheat, corn, as well as oilseed rape.
