Kathmandu. Skywalk Kathmandu in Kamaladi has entered its third year. The Skywalk, operated by Wonders Nepal Pvt. Ltd., is famous for its aerial view of Kathmandu. On the occasion of the annual festival, guests visiting the Skywalk will be given a free cup with their photo, informed Skywalk Kathmandu Chairman Tej Bahadur Singh.
This will be applicable to every ticket that has not been used for the discount. Pandey said that this offer, brought on the occasion of the third year, will last for three months. The 78.5-meter-high Skywalk Tower, built on 13 ropanis, has become a major destination for people coming to Kathmandu from outside districts and abroad.
You can walk on the skywalk (glass-covered floor) on the 25th floor of the tower. Walking there feels like walking in the sky. Managing Director Bishnu Hari Pandey said that Skywalk has become a major destination in Kathmandu for adventure enthusiasts. Quality glass with a load-bearing capacity of 500 kg per square meter has been used in the skywalk. 58 iron rods have been placed 35 meters below the ground while constructing various skywalks.
Two lifts have been built to reach the top of the tower, and up to 45 people can go up at a time. The company also says that the upper part of the skywalk can accommodate up to 500 people at a time. Skywalk is not only a suitable destination for adventure activities, but also for getting information about historical sites in Kathmandu. From here, you can see the historic clock tower, Trichandra Campus, Ranipokhari, Durbar High School, Tundikhel, Dharahara, Shaheed Gate, Singha Durbar and other places.
This place, which has recently become a gathering place, has various facilities besides the skywalk. There is also an MP theater facility for holding small programs in the tower premises. According to the company, the skywalk is also a suitable place for viewing sunrise and sunset and doing yoga.
“It is 16 meters higher than the Dharahara, you can see a 360-degree view of Kathmandu from here, apart from that, it is also a suitable destination for getting information about the Kathmandu city from one place,” said Managing Director Pandey. The company still does not charge any fees for senior citizens over 80 years of age and children whose height is less than three feet.
