DSP Nepal said that the traffic has been completely blocked due to the flood in the Kharange River, which is on the alternative road going through Hongsi Gate-Sardi-Jamire. Large vehicles were being diverted through a diversion constructed on the Binayi River in Dumkibas, while small and passenger vehicles were being operated on alternative roads.
DSP Nepal said that the diversion was also washed away due to the flood and the highway was completely blocked after the river on the alternative route flooded.
DSP Nepal said that the vehicles were being held at a safe place after the flood in the river disrupted traffic. After the bridge on the Binayi River in Dumkibas broke, the highway has been operating solely through the diversion. The diversion is often blocked during heavy rains as it damages the diversion. A new bridge is being constructed at the site of the break. The bridge is in the final stages of construction.
Once the bridge is built, the misery of diversion will end. On the other hand, due to the incomplete construction work on the Daunna section, the problem of the road becoming slippery after rain, disrupting traffic, persists.
