Ramechhap. To increase the school’s internal resources, Manthali Secondary School located in Manthali, the district headquarters of Ramechhap, has planted Buddha Chitta saplings on the school premises. As it is necessary to run the school on its own internal resources rather than always depending on the state, 104 Buddha Chitta saplings have been planted on the school premises, said Tanka Prasad Dahal, principal of Manthali Secondary School.

Dahu Secondary School Bethan in Sunapati Rural Municipality has provided free technical assistance for planting saplings and seedlings. The school has been generating a significant income from the production of Buddha Chitta plants and fruits.

Accepting the basic mantra that one should make one’s own school capable and strong, rather than relying on others, Dahu Secondary School Principal Bal Bahadur Bal said that he is ready to provide plants and technical support requested by any school. He said that after the request of Manthali Secondary School, he helped plant the Buddha Chitta saplings produced in his school at Manthali Secondary School.

If Dahu Secondary School, which accepted the school’s request and provided technical assistance including saplings, would provide similar assistance to other schools, many schools would become self-reliant, said Chandra Singh Dhami, Assistant Principal of Manthali Secondary School.

Since this fruit, which grows in any climate, does not require much effort and hard work, it also serves as an experimental practice to teach practical knowledge to students, so in addition to reading textbooks, students from grades 10 to 12 are involved in such work at his school.

Since it has a campaign to make schools self-reliant, He said that any school that wants to plant Buddha Chitta can be provided with the Buddha Chitta saplings produced in their school free of cost. The saplings, which have been producing for about two years after planting, are sold directly from the plant for 3,000 to 5,000 per kilogram.
