Chitwan. The production of mudhas prepared at the Chitwan Prison Office has been stopped after it did not find a market. The production was stopped as the mudhas produced here daily were not sold in the market.
Padam Bahadur, who has been on the run for a long time, had been weaving mudhas. He said that now that the mudhas are no longer being sold, he has become freer. He said that after the closure of this business, which made life easier for prisoners, it has become difficult to even spend the day.
Although this work requires 90 to 100 people daily, he said that the work has been stopped for the past 15 days. He said, ‘The first mudhas have not yet been able to go to the market. What else can we do with the production?’ He informed that the prison is currently weaving mudha as per the demand.
The mudha produced here is sold in Chitwan, Kaski, Rupandehi, Kathmandu, Makawanpur, Nawalparasi and other districts, but the prison office has stated that the production has been stopped due to low sales. Currently, there are 1,500 local mudha and more than 400 special mudha in the warehouse. He said, ‘Earlier, around 1,500 mudha were sold in a month. It is difficult to sell even 400 mudhas now.’ He said that with the expansion of the mudha market, the market may be shrinking even though such enterprises are operating in all prisons.

He said that it is difficult for those who are used to working all day to spend their days. He said that the prison administration has been paying attention to the marketing of mudhas here.
