Birgunj. Birgunj Customs Office has collected the highest revenue of Rs 73.18 billion from the import of petroleum products in the 11 months of the current fiscal year 2081/82. The office has spent Rs 174.9 billion to import five types of petroleum products in the 11 months of the current fiscal year. Petroleum products account for 46.43 percent of the total revenue from imports.
Deepak Lamichhane, Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, said that the main source of revenue for Birgunj Customs is the revenue from the import of petroleum products and vehicles. Similarly, the second highest revenue is Rs 17.7 billion from the import of transport vehicles and their spare parts. The share of transport vehicles and spare parts in the revenue received from imports is 11.23 percent.
Similarly, 5.78 billion rupees have been collected from iron and iron-made goods. 5.26 billion rupees have been collected from machinery and spare parts imports. 3.67 billion rupees have been collected from electrical machinery, equipment and their spare parts imports, said Chief Customs Administrator Lamichhane.
In the 11 months of the current fiscal year, 3.6 billion rupees have been collected from all types of textile imports. During the same period, 2.58 billion rupees have been collected from tobacco and tobacco products imports, 2.52 billion rupees from cosmetics imports, 2.32 billion rupees from plastic raw materials imports, and 2.19 billion rupees from other lubricant oils imports, informed Chief Customs Administrator Lamichhane.
