Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Yadav Dhakal, said that the alternative route has also been completely blocked as the water level in Kharangay rivulet at Vinayi Triveni-3 has increased due to heavy rainfall. At present, vehicles are unable to move on the Daunne Dumkiwas section of this road.
The temporary diversion constructed at Binayi khola along the East-West Highway was washed away due to rising water level. After the diversion was washed away, small and medium vehicles up to 912 wheels kept on hold were being transported through alternative internal routes using Hongxi Gate, Winter and Jamire Highways. Superintendent of Police Dhakal said that the traffic has been completely closed due to the obstruction of that route.
The passengers have been facing difficulties due to lack of reliable arrangements for flow and temporary diversion in rivers and streams along with the rain.
